Envirosuite Delivers Odour Insights to Welsh Water

Envirosuite has supplied its Omnis platform to Welsh Water in a move that marks a shift toward proactive odour management at several critical wastewater treatment sites. The technology integrates real-time monitoring of odorous compounds with hyperlocal weather data, giving site teams the ability to respond more quickly to potential incidents. According to the company, this has reduced response times from days to minutes and improved both operational efficiency and community engagement.

The system replaces traditional static logging methods with live data, predictive modelling and automated reporting. Welsh Water now has access to site-specific alerts and emissions trajectory analysis, helping teams take preventive measures such as adjusting tanker schedules based on wind direction. The solution has also received recognition from regulatory authorities for its transparency and practical utility in managing public concerns.

“Live data is a game-changer. We can now preempt odour issues and even divert sludge tankers based on wind direction,” said Mike Loyns, Wastewater Asset Engineer at Welsh Water.
