SalzburgMilch, one of Austria's prominent dairies, has implemented GEA's Centrifuge Water Saving Unit to significantly reduce water consumption in its operations. The system saves approximately 1,260,000 liters of water per installed unit each year while lowering wastewater costs, supporting the company’s sustainability objectives. This milestone reflects GEA’s commitment to providing innovative technologies that align with environmentally conscious production practices in the dairy industry.
The introduction of the Water Saving Unit marks the latest achievement in a decades-long collaboration between SalzburgMilch and GEA. Installed in early 2024, the unit enhances water conservation by optimizing processes in milk production and is set to deliver long-term cost savings. Following the success of the initial installation, SalzburgMilch plans to expand its use of GEA’s technology, with three additional units ordered to further increase water efficiency and environmental benefits.
The partnership highlights the shared focus of both companies on advancing sustainable solutions for the dairy industry. By integrating efficient technologies, they aim to address growing consumer demand for environmentally responsible and high-quality products while maintaining operational efficiency.
