Siemens is set to welcome over 1,700 apprentices and university students into its work-study programs for the 2024 training year, a significant increase from the previous year's 1,500. The expanded curriculum will not only cover technology, digitalization, and sustainability but will also introduce a new focus on democratic values and social responsibility. This innovative approach aims to equip trainees with essential decision-making skills and a deep understanding of societal roles in a digital world.
The company emphasizes its commitment to preparing future professionals with a blend of technological expertise and fundamental values. “Our trainees will shape the future of Siemens and the future of Germany as an industrial location. That’s why we’re not only fostering technological and digital skills but also aim to educate responsible and committed citizens. An open discussion of the values underlying our free, democratic order is therefore very important for us,” said Judith Wiese, Chief People and Sustainability Officer, member of the Managing Board and Labor Director at Siemens AG.
