LANXESS Highlights Treatment Solutions for Contaminated Water

At Aquatech 2025, LANXESS showcased several technologies applicable to the treatment of contaminated and industrial wastewater. Among the products presented was Lewatit MDS TP 108, a fine-grain ion exchange resin designed to remove short-chain PFAS from water — compounds that are particularly difficult to capture due to their small molecular size. The company also exhibited its non-oxidizing biocides, including Aqucar DB 20, Kathon WTE and Aqucar GA 50, aimed at controlling biofouling in membrane filtration systems used across industrial water treatment processes.

LANXESS additionally introduced a preliminary cloud-based version of its LewaPlus design software for ion exchange system planning. Also on display were its Scopeblue and Eco product lines, which the company says have a reduced carbon footprint compared to conventional resins. These offerings are part of what LANXESS describes as a wider commitment to supporting efficient and more sustainable treatment strategies for industrial water streams.

LANXESS experts also spoke on the “AquaStage” at the event, focusing on ion exchange and membrane system performance in industrial applications. The company aims to provide solutions that address operational challenges while supporting environmental compliance across sectors, including wastewater treatment.
