WSP Unveils New On-Site Water Solution

WSP has announced the launch of a new wastewater treatment technology designed for the on-site elimination of PFAS and other persistent contaminants. Developed in partnership with pro aqua, the system—called PFASER—uses a patent-pending electro-oxidation process powered by boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrode reactors. According to WSP, the combination offers both high performance and long operational life, with electrodes reportedly capable of functioning continuously for more than six years.

The company describes PFASER as a modular, scalable, and cost-efficient solution. It is also the first commercially available system to incorporate a proprietary perchlorate removal process, addressing a common byproduct of electro-oxidation and allowing treated water to meet regulatory standards for discharge or reuse. The technology builds on WSP’s existing expertise in PFAS remediation and reflects its broader strategy to expand in water-related services.

“Thanks to our deep expertise in electro-oxidation for water treatment and our synergistic partnership with pro aqua, we can now offer our clients an industry-leading, durable, modular and scalable solution that helps them meet even the most stringent regulatory requirements for on-site elimination of water contaminants. By setting a new benchmark for water quality and safety worldwide, we are also unlocking new commercial opportunities in water-related services—a key high-growth area in our current strategic cycle.” said André-Martin Bouchard, Global Director, Earth & Environment, WSP.
