Bergtec Delivers Paris Flood Defence Solution

The French Ministry of Economy, Industry and Finance has strengthened its flood resilience along the Seine with a custom-engineered solution from Bergtec. The company installed 600 metres of demountable, high performance flood barriers designed to withstand water pressures up to 2.50 metres. These removable walls accommodate the Ministry’s varied access points — from doorways and staircases to vehicle entrances and ventilation grilles — while preserving the architectural character of the site.

Bergtec’s system leverages durable, corrosion-resistant materials and conceals fixings to maintain the aesthetic integrity of the building. The barriers are designed for repeated deployment, offering both high-performance protection and long-term flexibility. Bergtec managed the full design-build process alongside the Ministry’s engineering and architectural teams to meet stringent safety and compliance standards.
