Amiblu’s PROX pipe system has made its first entry into the Italian market, with the Consorzio di Bonifica dell’Emilia Centrale selecting the technology for a key infrastructure scheme on the Risalita canal in Emilia-Romagna. The installation covered approximately 1,400 metres of DN 1000 PROX pipes, laid in open trench during a wider programme to reprofile and stabilise canal banks and support the construction of the Morana Diversion. The project forms part of the EU-funded NextGenerationEU initiative targeting improved flood resilience and hydrogeological risk reduction.
Work on site was carried out by I.L.S.E.T. SRL and COGESTRA SRL between late August and early September, with completion delivered within the planned window. According to Amiblu, PROX provides the performance characteristics of GRP with a reduced environmental footprint due to changes in raw materials, manufacturing and logistics. This installation represents its first reference project in Italy and adds to the broader adoption of PROX across European water infrastructure schemes.
