CDM Smith has announced that Felipe S. Contreras, PE, CME, CFM has joined the firm as an associate and senior project manager. Contreras is a drinking water treatment and distribution expert with 25 years of experience. With expertise in integrated water resources management, he specializes in the design and construction management of drinking water treatment and distribution systems, wastewater treatment and collection systems. Contreras has proven his abilities to lead successful water projects, manage teams and help clients achieve utility efficient operation and ensure regulatory PFAS-level compliance with industry standards, explain the company.
Contreras has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in hydraulic resources from the University of Los Andes. He is also involved in several industry organizations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers, the National Society of Professional Engineers, New Jersey Society of Civil Engineers, the Association of State Floodplain Managers, the New Jersey Association for Flood Plain Management, the American Water Works Association and the Water Environment Federation.
