Danfoss has introduced a configurator for its drives within the EPLAN Electric P8 system, aiming to streamline design processes. The tool allows users to select and generate EPLAN data (EDZ files) more quickly, reducing the time required for drawing creation and adaptation. By integrating this functionality alongside other major component manufacturers, Danfoss says that the tool simplifies product selection and comparison.
The company highlights that the configurator enables drive configuration and EDZ file generation in minutes, compared to the significantly longer timelines of traditional methods. A drag-and-drop macro system is designed to enhance adaptability, allowing users to adjust drawings to specific project needs. The tool currently supports iC7-Automation frequency converters up to 43 A, with planned expansion to additional frames and hardware variants.
Danfoss states that the interface aligns with its existing digital platforms, aiming to provide a seamless user experience. Future updates are expected to expand the tool’s compatibility, broadening its applicability across industries.
