Ovivo announced that Cembrane has achieved NSF-419 certification for their SiCBlox ceramic membranes. The company go on to say that the certification underscores their commitment to excellence, innovation, and ensuring safe drinking water for all.
The NSF/ANSI 419 standard focuses on public drinking water equipment performance, specifically filtration. It evaluates the efficiency of filtration devices in removing microorganisms, particularly Cryptosporidium, a microscopic parasite that can pose health risks. Ovivo’s products underwent rigorous testing, resulting in the log removal value (LRV): 4.22 at 425 LMH. This translates to the membranes removing >99.99% of microorganisms larger than 3µm.
In addition to ensuring safe drinking water, Ovivo’s NSF-419-certified membranes also contribute to substantial water savings. Every glass of safe, clean drinking water produced by SiC has a smaller carbon footprint compared to polymeric membranes*. Lastly, they reduce the use of chemicals and lower the overall production cost, making the company’s solutions both economically and environmentally sustainable.
