Arqiva Connects Two Million Smart Water Meters Across the UK

Arqiva, a leading UK communications infrastructure and media services company, has successfully connected two million smart water meters to its network. These installations form the backbone of the two largest smart water meter networks in the UK and aim to support water providers in meeting Ofwat’s targets for reducing water leakage and per capita consumption in the upcoming Asset Management Plan (AMP) periods.

Arqiva's network aims to provide strong connectivity and reliable data transmission, which are critical components for the success of smart water meter programs. The connected meters are designed to help water providers gather actionable data to monitor supply, identify leaks, and understand consumer consumption patterns.

"Connecting two million smart water meters is a fantastic achievement for Arqiva and our partners. Our focus on robust connectivity and reliable data supports our customers in monitoring supply and addressing consumer needs, ensuring a successful smart water meter programme," said Mike Smith, Executive Director of Smart Utilities Networks at Arqiva.
