Affinity Water has signed a 15-year agreement with Arqiva to deploy Smart metering infrastructure across 400,000 properties. The rollout, spanning the next five years, will cover areas in southern England. The meters will operate on LoRaWAN technology, provided in partnership with Netmore Group, and are expected to support improved monitoring, leak detection, and water conservation efforts.
Arqiva states that its network will enable regular, accurate readings, helping customers track usage trends while providing a foundation for further digital utility advancements. The initiative is part of Affinity Water’s broader strategy to reduce water loss and enhance infrastructure efficiency.
“This partnership supports our goal of delivering smarter, more efficient water services,” says Geordie Wilson, Head of Smart Metering at Affinity Water.
