Stantec has been appointed as the Owner’s Advisor for the Washington County Regional Reuse Purification System. This $1 billion initiative will involve over 30 projects aimed at enhancing local water supplies through a regional water reuse program. Partnering with the Washington County Water Conservancy District, City of St. George, and Ash Creek Special Service District, Stantec will oversee project implementation, which includes preliminary design, environmental permitting, and system coordination.
Washington County, known for its rapid growth and limited water resources, is facing increased demand on its supplies. As part of its advisory role, Stantec will guide the development of reuse water projects and an advanced treatment facility for indirect potable reuse. “The Regional Reuse Purification System will deliver a higher quality potable water supply to local communities, lessen competition for existing agricultural water supplies, and support a more sustainable use of local groundwater resources,” said Clint Rogers, Stantec vice president.
