SealRyt Reduces Water Use with Pump Sealing System

SealRyt reports that a Florida utilities company has significantly reduced flush water usage on its lime slurry pumps following the installation of the company’s PackRyt® BLR assemblies. Previously averaging 23 gallons per minute (gpm) per pump, the flush water rate has been optimized to 10 gpm after the upgrade, equating to more than 50% reduction per pump and over 748,000 gallons saved daily across 40 pumps.

The PackRyt system combines lantern ring, bushing, and packing into a single unit and was selected to help address high operational costs and improve sealing efficiency. SealRyt says the solution supports pump performance by maintaining lubrication while controlling water flow, contributing to improved overall plant operations.

The utility company is continuing its rollout of the PackRyt assemblies across all pumps, with further water and cost savings expected as implementation progresses.
