EnviroChemie is supplying advanced water treatment technology to support the Oldenburg and East Friesian water board (OOWV) in Nordenham, Germany. From summer 2026, treated municipal wastewater will be transformed into process water for industrial use. A combination of Envopur® ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis systems will purify wastewater from the local treatment plant, which will then be transported via a 5.5 km pipeline to the chemical company Kronos Titan.
Kronos Titan plans to utilize 1.1 million cubic meters of the process water annually for industrial processes, including filtration and steam generation. The initiative is expected to reduce demand on the OOWV’s Großenkneten water treatment facility while contributing to the sustainability goals of the participating organizations. Construction of the facility is scheduled to commence in autumn 2024.
“We are proud to be making a key contribution to this pioneering sustainability project. It is further proof of how cutting-edge technologies empower us to use resources responsibly and make a positive contribution towards protecting the environment,” said Klaus Dickhoff, Head of Sales at EnviroChemie.
