Badger Meter Expands Network Monitoring Capabilities

Badger Meter has acquired SmartCover® Systems, adding sewer line and lift station monitoring to its BlueEdge™ suite of water management solutions. SmartCover provides real-time monitoring technology that helps utilities detect and prevent sewer overflows, manage inflow and infiltration, and optimize maintenance schedules. The company says that the acquisition enhances their ability to support municipal water systems in improving operational efficiency and infrastructure resilience.

SmartCover’s solutions offer continuous data collection and analysis, allowing utilities to respond proactively to changing conditions. The integration of its monitoring capabilities into BlueEdge expands the range of analytics available to customers, particularly as extreme weather events challenge water infrastructure. The company states that SmartCover’s recurring software and support model aligns with its long-term strategy for growth in the smart water sector.

“SmartCover fits directly into our BlueEdge suite of hardware-enabled software solutions, enhancing the scope of data, information, and analytics that collectively strengthen our customers’ water management practices,” said Kenneth C. Bockhorst, Chairman, President, and CEO of Badger Meter.
