Badger Meter's ORION Cellular Certified Under IoT Network Program

Badger Meter’s ORION® Cellular endpoint has been certified under the IoT Network Certified for Smart Connected Infrastructure™ program, a joint initiative by Ericsson and CTIA Certification. The company says the device is the first smart water endpoint to meet the program’s standards, which assess reliability and cybersecurity performance in real-world conditions.

The certification process was carried out at Ericsson’s testing labs in Plano, Texas, and included evaluation against 3GPP, NIST, and CTIA Certification benchmarks. Badger Meter says that this recognition affirms the ORION Cellular device’s suitability for use in critical infrastructure, particularly smart water systems where secure, reliable data transmission is essential.
