Toray Opens Water Technology Hub in Saudi

Toray Industries has launched operations at its new Middle East Water Treatment Technical Center (MEWTEC) in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, through its subsidiary Toray Membrane Middle East LLC. The center is designed to provide integrated support for water treatment projects, from membrane technology through to full system processes. Positioned to serve the Middle East, Africa, and surrounding regions, the facility responds to growing demand for solutions in wastewater reuse and seawater desalination.

According to the company, MEWTEC combines analytical capabilities, membrane performance testing, and pilot-scale equipment to support customization and on-site evaluations. It also hosts a product display area and training workshops, and is positioned as a hub for collaborative research with universities and industry partners. Toray says the new center supports its broader sustainability goals and reinforces its commitment to supplying technical services to regions facing rising water stress.

The company states that access to clean water is central to its long-term sustainability vision, and that MEWTEC will help drive progress in water treatment technology by enabling faster local response and supporting the development of tailored solutions in partnership with stakeholders.
