Veolia is supplying the advanced treatment technologies behind Brazil’s first large-scale municipal wastewater reuse plant, the Vitória Water Reclamation Station. According to the company, the facility will recycle up to 85% of wastewater from the Camburi basin, redirecting it for industrial use and easing pressure on freshwater supplies.
The system incorporates Veolia’s membrane bioreactor and reverse osmosis solutions, including memDENSE™, ZeeWeed™ 500-EV, and PROflex™. With a processing capacity of 450 litres per second, the plant is designed to support long-term water resilience for local industries, including ArcelorMittal and Vale, under a public-private partnership led by Águas de Reúso de Vitória.
“This project sets a new benchmark for sustainability across Latin America. By leveraging our most advanced proprietary technologies, we're transforming challenges into opportunities and helping our partners achieve their goals while actively preserving water resources.” said Estelle Brachlianoff, CEO of Veolia.
