Tedagua, part of the Cobra Group, has received recognition for its role in the Rayis-Rabigh Independent Water Transmission Project (IWTP), which was named Best Water Project in the Middle East and North Africa at the IJGlobal Awards 2024. The 151-kilometre pipeline system was developed in consortium with Saudi firm Alkhorayef Water and Power Technologies for the Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC), and includes a high-capacity reversible pumping station, storage tanks, and an integrated solar power plant.
The project is being delivered under a 35-year public-private partnership and is designed to distribute desalinated water to the Mecca and Medina regions. Tedagua is leading the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) as well as operations and maintenance (O&M) for the system, which connects the industrial hubs of Rayis and Rabigh and supports Saudi Arabia’s water infrastructure goals.
The company says this development is a strategic milestone that enhances its presence in the region, supports long-term sustainability targets, and contributes to the advancement of integrated water infrastructure in line with national development objectives.
