Hidroconta is supplying smart metering technology for a large-scale water digitalization project in the province of Ourense, Galicia. More than 42,000 devices are being installed across 81 localities as part of the initiative, which aims to improve efficiency in potable water management and support more sustainable consumption practices.
The company is providing its Centaurus volumetric and Nautilus ultrasonic meters, which feature integrated Iris and NB-IoT communication systems. The devices enable remote data transmission and real-time monitoring, helping identify leaks early, reduce operational costs and give users access to detailed consumption data.
The project forms part of a wider move towards automation and data-driven infrastructure. Hidroconta says the technology also supports better control of the hydraulic network and reduces the need for manual interventions.
