ACCIONA has been awarded a contract by Companhia Espirito Santense de Saneamento (CESAN) to provide urban sanitation services across eight municipalities in the state of Espirito Santo, Brazil. The project, structured as a 23-year public-private partnership, includes the construction, operation, and maintenance of wastewater infrastructure. Planned investments total R$540 million (€85 million), aiming to benefit approximately 250,000 residents by expanding sanitary sewer coverage to 90% of the population by 2033. The scope encompasses four wastewater treatment plants, 65 pumping stations, and 320 kilometers of water collection pipelines.
With more than 25 years of experience in Brazil, ACCIONA has developed significant infrastructure projects including the São Paulo subway Line 6 and sanitation systems in several regions. The company’s work supports sustainable development goals aligned with the EU taxonomy for low-carbon activities. Recent contracts, such as a similar sanitation concession in Paraná, further demonstrate its ongoing commitment to improving water and sanitation services across Brazil.
