ACCIONA has begun full-scale operation of sanitation systems across 48 municipalities in Paraná, Brazil, building on previous support work in the region. The project, developed through a public-private partnership with state utility Sanepar, focuses on expanding access to sewage services in underserved areas and upgrading existing infrastructure.
The eight-year initiative is backed by a projected investment of €310 million and is expected to benefit around 252,000 people by 2033. According to the company, the goal is to align with Brazil’s Legal Framework for Sanitation, which targets improved health and living conditions through increased service coverage.
ACCIONA and Sanepar have submitted a detailed action plan outlining phased implementation tailored to the needs of each municipality. Sanepar will continue overseeing water supply operations and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
