acciona.org Expands Global Reach

acciona.org, the corporate foundation of ACCIONA, reports that it extended renewable electricity, quality water, and sanitation services to more than 161,000 people in remote communities across nine countries in 2024—an increase of 36% over the previous year. The foundation says its model, which includes long-term technical support, benefited 33,400 households as well as schools, health centers, and small businesses.

In 2024, acciona.org also began operations in South Africa and the Dominican Republic, bringing its total country presence to nine. The foundation says it has broadened its focus to include support for local economic development and emergency response, such as a water and reforestation project in Mexico and electrification efforts in Ethiopia in collaboration with humanitarian partners.

Access to renewable services, the foundation notes, supports improved health, education, income generation and environmental outcomes across the 1,663 communities served.
